Last season, the Orange women’s basketball team won 19 games with an experienced starting front court that consisted of seniors Icez Barnett, Lauren Cates and Kate Burgess. Next year, the Lady Panthers will be considerably younger after the graduation of those three players, along with three-year starting point guard Grace Dively. Last week, Orange women’s basketball coach B.J. Condron got a glimpse of his new team during a series of summer games against Eastern Alamance, Jordan and Chapel Hill. The good news for Condron is several freshmen got on-the-job training last year. Guards Aaliyah Harris, Mary Moss Wirt and Jarmil Wingate all were in the regular rotation and will look to help a younger Orange team this November.
