The Hillsborough Derby provided an unlikely hero on Friday afternoon at Orange Soccer Park. Calvin Navaez headed in the game-winning goal off of a rebound following a shot by Cameron Koehler with 12:21 remaining as Cedar Ridge defeated Orange 3-2. It was the first varsity goal for Navarez, a senior who didn’t play soccer last season. Jose Luna and Brandon Garcia also tallied goals for the Red Wolves, who ended a three-game losing streak to the Panthers. Frank Orellana and Koehler each had assists for the Red Wolves, who improved to 4-5-1 overall, 1-2 in the Big 8 Conference.
