The Orange volleyball team defeated crosstown rival Cedar Ridge 3-1 on Thursday night at a sweaty Orange High Gymnasium. The Lady Panthers had several important kills from junior setter Kaitlyn Werden throughout the match, which Orange won on scores of 25-15, 24-26, 27-25 and 25-21. Orange has now won five straight over the Red Wolves and improves to 9-6, 5-4 in the Big 8 Conference. Orange faces Northwood on Wednesday in Hillsborough. The Red Wolves travel to Caswell County on Monday night to take on the Bartlett Yancey Buccaneers, who they defeated in the season-opener.
